- Breed:
Our Ready to Lay pullets are red sexlink (typically Novogen or HyLine). They’re brown and they lay large brown eggs at 90%+ lay rate (lay rate is highly dependent on management). The mail order hatcheries have various marketing names for these birds; one of the most common names is Golden Comet.
Pullet Type:
We believe the details are important, and we source pullets that are grown with pastured poultry farms in mind. Here are the primary characteristics of our 2026 ready to lay pullet offerings:
- Untrimmed/Non-GMO/Vaccine Free: Our signature offering. These birds are raised specifically with pastured poultry growers in mind. They have full intact beaks, eat a certified non-gmo feed, and are not vaccinated.
- Untrimmed/Non-GMO/Vaccinated: Raised with full beaks and fed a certified non-gmo feed. These birds receive a full set of vaccinations.
- Trimmed/Conventional: We fill in our offering with a conventionally raised pullet that have a laser trimmed beak on the day of hatch.
Deposit Schedule:Â
$3 non-refundable deposit required to hold birds.
Additional $3 non-refundable payment will be due 8 weeks prior to the the pullets 16 week old date. For example, if your pullets are 16 weeks old on May 7, the second deposit will be due 8 week earlier on March 12, 2026.
Pickup schedule:
It’s important to understand that your pick up date is not the flock date. The flock date identifies the 16 week old date. Pick up dates and times will be communicated 2-3 weeks before your flock’s 16 week old date. You will be expected to pick up your pullets on the date provided to you.
